ESPN Plus is an interesting streaming service for sports fans offering live matches, original shows, and premium written articles. But, does ESPN Plus has a free trial that allows fans to experience the content at no cost even in 2022? Find out in this post.
The streaming service launched in August 2018 after the company merged its sports content and ESPN Insider, the service that offered exclusive written articles for $4.99/month, into a new service called ESPN Plus.
Since then, it has become the go-to platform for countless sporting fans. The platform offers access to content specific to the ESPN family of networks, unlike fuboTV or Sling TV which unlocks viewing access to many different networks.
Does ESPN Plus Offer a Free Trial in 2022?
When ESPN Plus launched in 2018, it offered a 7-day free trial via its website to all the new subscribers. The free trial allowed users to get hold of the platform and enjoy the premium content without having to pay anything for the first seven days.
However, ESPN Plus discontinued the free trial last summer, in June 2020. Thus, there is no ESPN Plus free trial available in 2022. Users will have to pay money in order to enjoy the content and there’s no free way to test the service.
Its free trial disappeared just like the Disney Plus free trial after the launch of the Disney Plus Bundle. ESPN is also owned by Disney and it’s a part of the streaming bundle that is offered at a heavily discounted price.
It’s one of the reasons why Disney discontinued the free trial for Disney+ and ESPN+ as fans can now get both the services as part of a single inexpensive bundle, starting from $14 per month.
ESPN Plus Costs $6.99/Month and You Can Cancel Anytime
New ESPN Plus users can still test the streaming service for a pretty low price as the service is available for only $6.99 a month and you get the ability to cancel anytime. Therefore, you can try out the ESPN Plus for a fairly low price.
You can sign up for ESPN Plus here as a new user and purchase a monthly subscription. You can use your credit card to pay around $7. Just make sure you remember to cancel the subscription before the month ends.
If you like the streaming service, you can continue paying for it. However, if you don’t find it worthy, you can simply cancel it anytime. You’ll still have access to the content until your next billing date.
Ways to Get the Best Deal on ESPN Plus
Although ESPN Plus doesn’t have a free trial, you can get it for a very affordable price. The best deal to get ESPN Plus is by buying the Disney Plus Streaming Bundle. The bundle offers access to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ in a single package that costs $13.99/month.
The $14 price for three amazing services is definitely worth it as the individual price for these services totals up to $22. You’ll be saving around $8 on the bundle. This means you are getting ESPN Plus effectively free with it.
If you opt for the package with Hulu (no ads), then the price will be $21.99. It’s still good if you also like watching shows and movies available on Hulu a lot.
Verizon Customers can get ESPN Plus free with Disney+ Bundle
Verizon customers can get ESPN Plus free alongside the Disney Plus Bundle in an exclusive offer. Users with at least one Get More Unlimited or Play More Unlimited plan are eligible for the offer that unlocks free access to ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu subscriptions.
This will save around $14 on the bundle as you don’t have to pay any additional fee. You can go through this FAQ page to understand the deal in depth.
ESPN+ and UFC PPV Package Saves $55
ESPN+ is currently offering a package for UFC fans that gives subscribers access to a UFC PPV event and a full year of ESPN Plus membership for only $90. Usually, the UFC Pay-per-View event costs $75, and the annual ESPN+ subscription costs $70.
This totals up to $145 but the ESPN+ and UFC PPV package costs only $90, saving you a flat $55. It’s the best deal if you are a UFC fan but also like to watch other sports on ESPN’s streaming service.
ESPN+ Annual Subscription Saves $14
If you’re an avid sports fan, you can opt for ESPN Plus’ annual subscription, instead of the monthly one. The monthly subscription costs around $7 a month which totals up to $84 for 12 months.
However, the annual ESPN+ subscription costs only $69.99. This saves you around $14 when you buy the annual subscription. Make sure you have enough time available in the coming months before opting for this package.
I’m learning that a lot of people don’t know this so PSA ‼️‼️‼️

Is ESPN Plus Worth it?
ESPN Plus has a plethora of content revolving around different sports including live games, original shows, and premium written articles under a single subscription. You’ll get access to a solid lineup of scheduled content on the platform alongside the on-demand library.
There’s access to plenty of soccer leagues like Bundesliga, Emirates FA Cup, LaLiga, Copa Del Rey, Carabao Cup, EFL, and Scottish Premiership. You will also get access to Tennis action such as the Australian Open, Wimbledon, US Open, and World Team Tennis.
For Golf fans, there’s PGA Tour and the Masters while UFC, Top Rank, and PFL are available for the fans of combat sports. However, there’s limited access to MLB, NHL, and MLS. And, there’s no coverage of NFL and NBA games available.
Apart from the live sports, there are popular shows and documentaries like 30 for 30, Man in the Arena, and The Fantasy Show, and daily radio shows or podcasts are available. Therefore, ESPN Plus is definitely worth it if you enjoy binge-watching sports-related content.
If you are still unsure, then ESPN+ with Disney+ Bundle is the best deal available right now. That way you won’t only be limited to sports but will also have access to entertaining movies, shows, and much more.
