What Happened in The Previous Episode: Recap
The episode was titled ” An Empty Man.” The episode showed Thorfinn in a nightmare, where his younger self goes after Einar’s family, and Suddenly he falls into a ditch. Thorfinn tries to climb up, but corpses hold him back, pushing him inside the ditch. Thorfinn wakes up screaming from his dream. He tells Einar that he remembers parts of the nightmare.
Furthermore, Einar tells Thorfinn that he called out to Askeladd in his sleep. Elsewhere, the farmhands are complaining that it’s not fair that slaves get to cultivate the land to pay their Debt.
Meanwhile, while repairing a roof, Thorfinn tells Einar about Askeladd, who killed his father. He adds that he hated Askeladd so much that after he died, Thorfinn felt empty. Thorfinn constantly feels that he forgets something.
However, Sverkel overhears the whole conversation and teaches them how to fish. He tells Thorfinn that being empty is good because starting a new life is easier. After some time, the duo makes their way to see their land. But as soon as they reach there, they discover someone has destroyed it.
Einar knows the farmhands are the culprit and tries to confront them. Thorfinn suggests calling Pater instead. On their way back, they encounter the farmhands, and a fight breaks between them.
