More About The Incident…
Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, previously testified that Tory shot at her feet five times after a party in Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. She spoke in court that this happened after an argument escalated between the two rappers regarding their careers. “I feel like that really rubbed him the wrong way,” she said during her testimony. “He kept yelling and cursing.”
However, when she tried to get out of the vehicle and tried to walk away, Lanez took advantage of the situation and opened fire, leaving the back of her feet wounded. She narrated in the court that he even yelled “Dance, b—-!”. She has to undergo surgery to remove bullet fragments in her feet.
If you aren’t aware, Megan initially told police officers that she cut her foot stepping on broken glass, but days later revealed that she had suffered a gunshot wound. After media outlets reported that Lanez had fired the gun, Megan directly accused him in an August 2020 Instagram video.
In November 2020, Lanez pleaded not guilty. However, the case moved to its trial stage and Stallion testified that Lanez yelled “Dance, b****! as he opened fire around her feet. Read the statement from the L.A. prosecutors based on Megan’s claim:
“The defendant and the 24-year-old victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her. Lanez allegedly “inflicted great bodily injury upon” “MEGAN P.” The complaint stated said Megan P. was “not an accomplice to the above offense.”
After Tory was found guilty in yesterday’s trial, L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón applauded Megan Thee Stallion’s “bravery,” mentioning that she displayed “incredible courage and vulnerability” “despite repeated and grotesque attacks” that she “did not deserve.”
“Women, especially Black women, are afraid to report crimes like assault and sexual violence because they are too often not believed,” George added. Tory faces a maximum sentence of more than 22 years and deportation to Canada.
