Texas-based rapper BFG Straap has died after being shot in South Dallas. The rapper was one of the two victims of the shooting that took place along Casey Street near Malcolm X Boulevard on Thursday.
A 26-year-old man named Cory Medina Lucien has been identified as the second victim, who died on the spot. BFG was found by the police in a wounded state. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
BFG Straap Shot and Killed in Dallas
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon around 3:30 pm when Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Casey Street in South Dallas. They found Lucien with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene, who was pronounced dead on the spot.
Another victim, 22 year old Antywon Dillard, who went by the stage name BFG Straap, was rushed to the hospital. He was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound at the hospital. No arrests have been made yet, and Police are in search of the suspect.
The motive behind the shooting is not clear yet, and the Police have asked for support from the general public to provide any information they have to Homicide Detective Kim Mayfield at 214-671-3646.
The rapper’s manager has confirmed his death with a post on Instagram. LD The Manager shared a picture of the deceased and wrote, “My heart in a million pieces right now!” She told the fans, “If I don’t respond y’all know that’s not like me but I will tho I’m just hurting too bad right now.”
The Crime Scene Video has Now Gone Viral
A video from the crime scene where the shooting happened is now doing the rounds on social media. Police can be seen barricading the spot with yellow tape in the footage. “Sad news, Dallas rapper BFG Straap was shot and killed in South Dallas. Rest In Peace,” reads the tweet that first shared the video.

The rapper’s fans are heartbroken by the news and are expressing their grief on social media. “THIS WORLD IS HELL ON EARTH MAN. RIP BFG STRAP [Heartbreak Emojis] life will never be the same after today,” wrote a fan.
Another one tweeted, “BFG Straap not dead bruh , when it come to consistency, BFG Straap go the hardest, don’t nobody work as hard as he did.”
BFG Straap had Released a New Album Recently
BFG was born on January 7, 2000, in Dallas, Texas. His official website says that the rapper “has experienced what seems like a lifetime of hardship, heartache, and various ups and downs.”
The songwriter was known for blending his writing skills and street artistry to create a unique Urban and Southern Hip Hop Sound. He released his album STRAAP A MANIAC in July 2019 and followed up with STRAAP’S R US in May 2020. His latest album, 11:11, was released less than a month ago.
BFG Straap had around 10,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 17,400 monthly listeners on Spotify. He worked with several renowned artists in his career, including Gunna, Lil CJ Kasino, YBN Almighty Jay, Trapboy Freddy and Splurge.
