It often surprises people how Justin Bieber and Kanye West are friends, but they have been friends for quite some time now. Bieber collaborated with Kanye back in 2012 on his album Believe. The latest development in their bromance is Bieber’s heartful happy birthday note to Kanye that he shared on his Instagram.
Recently, after Kanye and Kim’s divorce, a lot of people seemed to take sides, especially after Kanye went public with his inhibitions about Kim’s ability to be a good mother and her dating life with Pete Davidson.
It seems like Bieber is on Kanye’s side though. He posted a heartful message for Kanye on his birthday. It started with “happy birthday @kanyewest. Your art has moved me in ways noone elses has. Your taste and style has helped shape the artist I am today.”
He then went on to thank him for giving him the confidence to create the things that he wanted to. In his gratitude, he also thanked Kanye for sharing his adoration for Jesus and “what he means to you.”
West & Bieber’s Collaborations
Bieber also sympathized with Kanye’s struggles with being a black man in today’s world. He ended the beautiful note with “I am honored to know you and call you a friend.”
Did you know that Kanye featured on Justin Bieber’s song called Runaway Love? Both of them were featured in Post Malone’s song No Reason too. Although there were rumors of Bieber featuring on West’s album Donda, his voice was not heard on Donda or Donda 2.
In 2015, Kanye said in an interview that Bieber’s What Do You Mean was his favorite song. This is back when Bieber was still hated massively and supporting him did not sit well with the haters. But having a legend like West say that Bieber’s song was his favorite certainly worked well for him.
Their mutual love goes beyond just collaborations. Bieber also performed at West’s service in November 2021. Marilyn Monroe prayed with Justin while Roddy Ricch was seated with other prestigious guests.
Controversy sure does follow Bieber and West. But it is so much bigger when they are both involved in the same controversy. Bieber got himself involved with a selfie of a Facetime call with Kanye West, his manager Scooter Braun, and one other guy.
Bieber captioned the screenshot with “What up Taylor Swift”. This was a direct dig at fellow singer Taylor Swift when all her songs were sold against her will and bought by Scooter Braun. Also, her feud with West has been ongoing for more than a decade. After that post, there was a lot of back and forth between Swift and Bieber as well.
Kanye’s Wish On Bieber’s Birthday
Bieber is not the only wish to have wished publicly. On Bieber’s birthday, West facetimed him to wish a happy birthday. Later, Justin Bieber also posted a screenshot of their call. He is clearly elated by the call.
At a glance, people might feel that Bieber and West don’t really have a lot in common, but they do. They both have massive influence, especially on their generations. They are both men of God and share a love for family life.
