Congratulations are in order for Jessie J as the singer has become a mother! The 35-year-old welcomed her first baby, a son, last week. The English singer announced the news on social media, however, she did not reveal the identity of the father.
The news comes a year and a half after Jessie suffered a tragic miscarriage in November 2021. At the beginning of 2023, she announced that she was pregnant with her rainbow baby. Over the months, she talked about her pregnancy on several occasions.
Jessie J Becomes Mother, Welcomes Rainbow Baby
The Bang Bang singer took to her Instagram stories on Friday to share the exciting news with the world. She wrote, “A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love.”
“He is magic. He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole ???? He and I are both doing great ☁️ I am soaking up every second and still can’t believe he is real, mine and here *happy tears* For all of you that have followed my journey to this moment, thank you for all your continued love and support,” she continued.
Jessie also revealed that she will be taking a break from social media in order to keep her full attention on her little munchkin. “I will be back on instagram when I’m ready,” she concluded writing.
The Singer Announced her Pregnancy in January 2023
Jessie announced her pregnancy with an adorable video on Instagram on January 7th this year. The video showed a picture of a sonogram and multiple images of the singer’s growing baby bump. “I am so happy and terrified to finally share this…Please be gentle with me ????,” she captioned the post.
“Honestly, ya girl just wants to ugly cry in public in a catsuit eating a chocolate covered pickle with no questions asked,” she added. In February, she revealed she was having a boy. “Since I wrote this song every time I play it or sing it he moves like crazy…so I think this song is the one. Oh yeah, I’m having a boy,” Jessie wrote along with a video of herself singing to her belly.
Jessie Suffered a Miscarriage in November 2021
In November 2021, the singer revealed the heartbreaking news of a pregnancy loss. She shared that she decided to ‘have a baby on my own’ but ‘there was no longer a heartbeat’ in her third scan.
After announcing her rainbow pregnancy this year, the Grammy winner talked about feeling ‘overwhelmed’ due to her troubled past experience. “It feels so strange to be on this side after being told I would never get pregnant to pregnancy loss to then being pregnant and how quickly it’s all happening,” she said in January 2023.
“My mind hasn’t fully processed that it’s actually happening some days, which is why I kept quiet for so long. I felt like I had my eyes closed, just hoping it all would continue to go well,” added the Grammy winner.
