Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village Streaming Options

The Film Set New Box-Office Records in Japan

The film was released in Japan on February 3, 2023, and soon became the highest-grossing film of the year by collecting $72 million within the first 24 days of its launch. The film surpassed its budget of $50 million in the initial few days only.

The same trend was followed in other countries as well. During its first weekend in the USA, the film collected $4.2 million, $3.5 million, and $2.4 million on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively, making over $10 million in total. Its worldwide total currently stands at $48.7 million.

The film is based on the Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village arcs of the manga series. The official synopsis for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village reads, “After his family is viciously murdered, a kind-hearted boy named Tanjiro Kamado resolves to become a Demon Slayer in hopes of turning his younger sister Nezuko back into a human.”

“Together with his comrades, Zenitsu and Inosuke, along with one of the top-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corps, Tengen Uzui, Tanjiro embarks on a mission within the Entertainment District, where they encounter the formidable, high-ranking demons, Daki and Gyutaro.”
