Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Takes the Legacy of Chadwick Boseman Forward

The original Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman, tragically passed away in 2020 after battling colon cancer. Marvel decided to honor the late star by not recasting T’Challa in the sequel. The film will pay tribute to Boseman; meanwhile, a new hero will take on the Black Panther suit, who many fans believe to be Shuri.

“Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for their nation,” reads the official synopsis of the film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams / Ironheart, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Michaela Coel as Aneka, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross and Angela Bassett as Ramonda.

Other cast members include Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Isaach de Bankolé, Dorothy Steel, Danny Sapani, Mabel Cadena, Alex Livinalli, María Mercedes Coroy,  Lake Bell, Kamaru Usman, and Richard Schiff.
