What was the cause behind the death of Coolio?
As per the reports of TMZ, Coolio who was most noted for his 1995 hit Gangsta’s Paradise, passed away on September 28, 2022, at the age of 59 at his friend’s home in Los Angeles. The rapper’s longtime manager, Jarez Posey has told Variety that he died around 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday afternoon.
Jarez has told the media outlet, that Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend’s house but he did not come out of the bathroom for a while, even though his friends kept calling his name, and soon afterward they went into the bathroom and found him laying on the floor.
The media outlet has reported that shortly soon, Coolio’s friends called EMTs and when they came to the location of Coolio’s death, they pronounced him dead. As of now, the cause of Coolio’s death has not been revealed but Posey has told TMZ, that the paramedics stated that the rapper may have passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
Sources have told TMZ, that no drugs were found at the death scene of Coolio. Law enforcement sources went on to say that an autopsy and toxicology test will be done to find out the cause of his death.

Sheila Finegan, Coolio’s manager at Trinity Artists International, issued a statement to Variety. She said, “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly.”
Finegan went on to say, “Thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”
Who was Coolio?
Coolio was born on August 1, 1963, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, and later on, he moved to Compton, California. At that time, he went to Compton Community College, and simultaneously he did many jobs such as volunteer firefighting and security at Las Angeles International Airport.
Coolio recorded his first song Whatcha Gonna Do? in the year 1987 and soon afterward, he joined the group WC and the Maad Circle in 1991. After a few years, he signed to Tommy Boy Records.
The rapper dropped his debut solo album It Takes a Thief in 1994. He shot to fame with his song Gangsta’s Paradise which he recorded for the 1995 film Dangerous Minds. In the blink of an eye, the song became one of the best rap songs of all time.
