Newton-John was born in the year 1948 in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Her family relocated to Australia when she was just six years old. She studied at Christ Church Grammar School in Melbourne. She then enrolled at the University High School in Parkville.
Olivia had a great passion for singing since her childhood days. She and her three classmates formed an all-girl band when she was just 14 and named it “Sol Four”. The band used to perform on local TV and radio shows.
She participated in a talent competition on the Johnny O’Keefe-hosted Sing, Sing, Sing television program and emerged as winner in 1965. She released her debut solo album, If Not For You in 1971.
She made her film debut starring in “Funny Things Happen Down Under” in 1956. Since then, she went on to land several roles in movies while also releasing songs.
Her big breakthrough moment came in the year 1978 when she portrayed the iconic role of Sandy in “Grease” with her co-star John Travolta.
Newton-John achieved huge commercial success as a country singer and sold millions of records worldwide. In her acting and singing career, she starred in 15 films and released 26 studio albums, including six soundtracks and 70 singles.

Olivia bought a property in Australia spread across 187 acres in the early 1980s. She purchased a 12-acre horse ranch in Santa Inez, California in 2015 for $4.69 million. She also owns many properties in Florida.
