Bungo Stray Dogs is returning for the 4th season after announcing it back in November 2021. The season will see a release on 4th January 2023, as a part of Winter 2023 anime. With the latest official trailer out, numerous new characters are coming to the show with the new cast.
Bungo Stray Dogs focuses on Atsushi Nakajima and Osamu Dazai as the primary protagonists of the plot. The series became quite popular and has now reached its 4th season. The anime is adapted from Kafka Asagiri’s manga of the same name, whereas the manga illustrations are done by Sango Harukawa.

Season 4 of Bungo Stray Dogs will come under Bones studios. This season will most probably come with 12 episodes like the previous one under Takuya Igarashi’s direction. However, Youji Enokido will oversee the scripting part and Kazuhiro Wakabayashi will be the sound director of the show.

What to Expect From Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4?
The official synopsis of Bungo Stray Dogs on Crunchyroll suggests: “Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the “Armed Detective Agency” said to solve incidents that even the military and police won’t touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that’s been terrorizing the population…”
Last time in Bungo Stray Dogs, season 3 concluded with the Cannibalism arc where the capture of Fyodor Dostoevsky. But this is just the beginning of what’s next to come. Season 4 will focus on the Decay of the Angel Saga of the manga.
The official trailer has revealed the terrorist organization Decay of the Angel which has stolen a page from a special book and has the ability to manipulate reality. The book was already teased in the previous seasons. The terrorist organization has five members, and Dostoevsky and Gogol are the main of them.
But somehow Armed Detective Agency will be announced as a threat by the government, as the trailer suggests. The trailer teased Atsushi, Kunikida, Yosano, Kenji, Ranpo, Kyoka, and Tanizaki in action to protect their agency at any cost.
The season 4 trailer has already teased a lot of action and betrayal in the plot. Fans are waiting for the sequel to hit Crunchyroll.
