Harry Styles Bagged Four Out of Four Trophies
After winning big at the Grammy’s last week, Styles continued his streak by triumphing all the major categories at the Brit Awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Pop/R&B Act. Styles previously won Song of the Year for his song Watermelon Sugar two years ago.
“I’m really, really grateful for this and I’m very aware of my privilege up here tonight. This night has been really special to me … Thank you so much for the welcome home. I’m so, so proud to be a British artist out there in the world. I’m so proud to be here tonight celebrating British artists and British music,” he said in his acceptance speech.
Apart from Harry, all eyes were on Beyoncé as she won International Artist of the Year, leaving behind the likes of Burna Boy, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Lizzo. She also defeated Swift’s Anti-Hero and Lizzo’s About Damn Time to win International Song of the Year for Break My Soul.
The Event Featured Some Scintillating Performances
Apart from getting the highest number of awards, Styles also opened the night with an energetic performance on As It Was. He was followed by Wet Leg, the duo featuring Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, who performed their hit track Chaise Longue.
The rest of the performers included Lewis Capaldi (Forget Me), Lizzo (Special, 2 Be Loved and About Damn Time), Stormzy (Hide & Seek and I Got My Smile Back), Cat Burns (Go), Sam Smith and Kim Petras (Unholy), and David Guetta, Becky Hill, Ella Henderson, and Sam Ryder (Remember, Crazy What Love Can Do and I’m Good).
