Finally, the iconic Halloween film from the ’90s will receive the sequel it deserves in Hocus Pocus 2. We’ve seen the trailer recently, and we know a little bit more about what the film will entail by the time it comes out in September.
The return of Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters in Hocus Pocus 2 was first announced in May 2021. This sequel to the 1993 film, which is available exclusively on Disney Plus, picks up with Max and his deliciously evil sisters 29 years after their resurrection.
All Hallows’ Eve, they plan to wreak havoc once again on the town of Salem, Massachusetts, and it’s up to a new group of youths to try to stop them.

According to Disney+, “it has been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge.” It is up to three high school students to prevent the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.
Hocus Pocus 2 Trailer: Watch the Hocus Pocus 2 Trailer Here!
The first Hocus Pocus 2 trailer dropped on June 28, 2022, and as was indicated above, it was poor on the storyline but heavy on spookiness.
The promotional material hinted at the reappearance of the Sanderson Sisters and showcased other iconic Hocus Pocus props including the Black Flame Candle.
On September 9, 2022, Disney debuted a second trailer for Hocus Pocus 2, which focused more on the film’s plot than the teaser.
The Sanderson Sisters’ 16th birthday appears to be the beginning of the film, as that is when they receive the magic book. In addition, we witness the three of them resurrect and hatch a plot to rob the souls of the teens who unintentionally resurrected them.
